This week Firefox 23 got released. With lots of new functionalities, we now have a new REFINED& SIMPLIFIED Firefox logo.
We all know the love of Firefox for open web. The logo represents fox hugging the world. With the release of Firefox 23 we now have a new refined logo of Firefox. This logo will be used from now on for all future purpose. There has been a significant change in the logo since 2004. Everytime the change is made considering SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) compatibility and CSS gradients. Colour consistency is also a major issue in logo design.
If we compare 2009-2013 and 2013+ logo, we see that a lot of detailing has been cut out. This will help in using it on a larger scale. The sharpness has been removed but the clarity remains the same.
“Simplifying a style doesn’t always mean bringing it down to basic geometric shapes and solid colors”
The Firefox logo has came a long way from a crude sketch to becoming a globally recognised Brand.
The Firefox logo was conceptualised by Daniel Burka. It was based upon an artwork “Samson’s Vengeance on The Philistines”
